Simon Cycles To Bhopal
On 1st November 2008, I will be joining CycleBhopal and cycling from Rajasthan to Madhya Pradesh - just over 400kms in six days – to raise money for the Sambhavna Clinic in Bhopal.
The Sambhavna Clinic is the only place in Bhopal offering free treatments and medicines to the many survivors of the 1984 Bhopal chemical gas disaster who are still chronically ill today as a result of gas and water poisoning. The clinic is supported by the Bhopal Medical Appeal and each cyclist taking part in CycleBhopal has committed to raising a minimum of £2680 to fund the salary of a doctor for one year.
Training and fundraising – and (a whole batch of painful) vaccinations - have already started and with this e-diary I hope to keep all of my supporters up-to-date with progress on both fronts.
A coffee fundraiser is planned for April and I am hoping to set up training rides – and looking for eager participants – over the spring and summer, so watch this space ………. or click on the headers to leave me a message or read our postings. To see how our targets are being met you can go to
